I will fill everyone in on the past few weeks, but first, I gotta say how ironic this particular post will be. My last post celebrated my excitement for Mos Def, while this one will clearly express my disappointment.

Thanks to a dear friend, I received tickets to see Mos Def this evening at the 9:30 Club in DC. I was extremely excited….I mean he is (was) one of my favorite rappers. I enjoyed the content of his lyrics, the flow of his music, and what he basically stood for, all in all.

But tonight, he threw me for a loop.

He was hours late to the concert, played some Haitian/voodoo film in the background while he performed, made fun of the skin complexion of one of his DJs, and made me so mad that I had to walk out…30 minutes after some of my friends left.

He lost crazy cool points with me. I am not sure I’ll be willing to go to another concert, no matter how I get tickets.

I think I’ll go back to simply listening to him on Pandora, if I get the urge. He won’t even get my $ for a CD. Times are too hard to be that disappointed. At least with Pandora, I can skip to the next song…without waiting for hours.
